In memory of the lives lost in CT

I was going to forego the bows on my Christmas tree this year but decided that I would put 26 bows on it to remember the lives lost in the Connecticut tragedy.  Maybe you can all find a way to do the same.

Rest In Peace.

I finally broke out my sewing machine and made curtains for my kitchen door. I wanted to coordinate them with the faux roman shade I made earlier! It’s been a longtime since I’ve sewn. It was really fun. I plan on doing more sewing in the very near future 🙂

Halloween fun

Yesterday we made a scarecrow for the front yard.  I love how he came out.  What do you think?

Wow.  There isn’t enough time in the day to do everything I want to do.  I have fallen off the wagon in regards to my blog posts.  Started a part time job too.  It’s going to be a challenge to balance everything.  Hoping to have another project to post soon.  Thanks for your patience 🙂

Ooops :)

A funny thing happened to me in the kitchen this morning. I was making peanut butter cookies with my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. I was measuring the ingredients and giving them to her to put in the bowl. We turned the mixer on and when all was said and done I removed the attachment from the mixer. I noticed that there was something wrapped around it and pulled it off. No clue as to what this was. I suddenly remember wondering if I had taken all of the wrapper off the butter. That must be it. As I was doing that I kept finding thick, long strands of something in the batter. It looked to me like papertowel. Then it dawned on me. When I store my brown sugar I put a wet papertowel in the bag. I had forgotten to take it out and obviously dumped it into the cookie dough. We ended up throwing most of the batter away. I had already cooked one dozen, so my husband will have to eat them at his own risk. We’ll try again tomorrow.

Please forgive me while I am trying to figure out the ins and outs of this blogging thing.  I am hoping to share my creative attempts whether they are successful or not.  I want this to be a safe place where we can share craft ideas and comments while having fun doing it.

Let the creative juices flow!
